Well today has been a busy day – Ruth came round this morning to drop of christmas card and prezzie, then we went to Amanda’s to drop off her christmas card and prezzie.
On the way back, we nipped into Tesco’s for some coffee, then went home to have tea early (as I was out after).
Tonight, I was at the Pomocna Dlon Christmas Party, taking photographs for them
On St Nicholas Eve, Father Christmas visited 70 Polish children during the Pomocna Dlon Christmas party, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Westgate. The event hosted by NCBI Lancashire was a celebration of Polish and English traditions, including traditional Polish food; carols in English and Polish sang by children from the Lancaster Polish Saturday school and traditional English and Polish customs explained by Sister Christina and staff from NCBI.
Magda Boklaho, from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said, “It is really important for the Polish community that the children are visited by Father Christmas and St Nicholas Day, on December 6th, is a special family day for us. Over 200 people came and it was a community event where we could share our customs with both English and Chinese people.”
Nicolle Croft, a Morecambe based PCSO said, “It was a brilliant way to meet the community and learn more about Polish culture. I loved the food!”
The deputy mayor, Councillor Redfearn thanked everyone for a great evening.
