Well today, Live on Channel 4, we saw the launch of Celebrity Big Brother 2009.

The house looks too much like the normal housemate house in my opinion; it should have been more sparkly… it is just too plain. Check out the official pictures here.

As usual, Davina started off with a tour of the house, and then introduced the housemates.

The housemates this year are:

• LaToya Jackson, aged 52, from The Jackson 5.
• Mutya Buena, aged 23, from The Sugababes.
• Verne Troyer, aged 40, AKA Mini Me.
• Tommy Sheridan, aged 44, Scottish Politician.
• Lucy Pinder, aged 25, Glamour Model.
• Ben Adams, aged 27, from Band A1.
• Tina Malone, aged 46, AKA Mimi from Shameless.
• Coolio, aged 45, Rapper.
• Michelle Heaton, aged 28, from Band Liberty X.
• Terry Christian, aged 45, Radio DJ.
• Ulrika Jonsson, aged 41, TV star and dated Sven.

Out of all of them, I think that Verne Troyer will win (because of his height & cuteness factor) – who goes?? you decide!

LaToya Jackson Biography
As a member of one of America’s most famous dynasties, LaToya is used to life in the limelight. She’s also the second Jackson sibling to enter the House after her brother Jermaine appeared in CBB5.
LaToya claims never to have used her fame to get anything, but in the same breath says she cannot live without bottled water, clean sheets, paper towels and tissues. Time to start using that fame, honey!
LaToya is no stranger to controversy either, following her multiple appearances in Playboy Magazine, but has LaToya got enough naked ambition to see her through to the Final?

Mutya Buena Biography
As one of the original members of pop group Sugababes, Mutya sang on some of their biggest hits before leaving the group in 2005.
She has released several solo singles since then, as well as duetting with George Michael on the single This Is Not Real Love.
Her motto is “don’t take life too seriously”, which might come in handy as she also hopes that being in the House will be peaceful “like Little House On The Prairie”. Of course Mutya…

Verne Troyer Biography
Actor Verne shot to fame playing Mini Me in the second Austin Powers movie, but he also appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, The Love Guru and Men in Black.
He thinks that being in the House will be like summer school, but when his worst habits start showing – burping, farting and picking his nose – he might find himself in detention! Oh, and he collects skulls. Okay then…
Verne claims to be a nice guy, but will show his ruthless side if it means he can win. Will Verne turn out to be an international man of mystery?

Tommy Sheridan Biography
Controversial politician Tommy is no stranger to the newspapers over the past few years – and mostly for all the wrong reasons.
Tommy’s socialist ideals have made him very popular with his former constituents, but will his rhetoric endear him to his fellow housemates?
He’s also a qualified gym instructor and describes himself as a control freak. He enjoys sunbeds, touching his nose and scratching his bum.

Lucy Pinder Biography
Spotted sunbathing on a Bournemouth beach in 2003, Lucy’s rise to fame has been spectacular – helped in no small part by her, ahem, assets. And in case you were wondering, they are a 32G.
Most often found on the covers of Arena, FHM, Zoo and Nuts magazines, Lucy has also appeared C4’s The Salon and BBC’s Hotel Babylon. Her lifetime ambition is to hold a monkey. Not the biggest ambition in the world, unless she means Mickey Dolenz? Or Peter Tork?
So anyway, she’s got the looks, but has she got enough front to stay in the House?

Ben Adams Biography
Once part of the boy band A1, Ben has released some solo material since the band split in 2002, with his efforts being compared to The Streets and Just Jack.
Such comparisons are a long way from when he was young – he used to be a choirboy and has sung for the Queen and the Pope!
These days he can count Har Mar Superstar and Alexandra Burke among his celebrity friends, so with all the other singers in the House, who knows what could happen – next year’s Christmas single maybe?

Tina Malone Biography
Actress Tina is best known for her role as Mimi Maguire on the C4 show Shameless where she swears, head-butts and screams her way through life.
Outside of the show, Tina has an acting school which produces plays for the Everyman Theatre and owns a pet lizard called David. That’s nice then… Tina has confessed that she is superstitious and can be a bit compulsive – her nickname is Moody Malone.
Will she cope with being cooped up for three weeks, or will she become a real-life, ball-busting Mimi Maguire?

Coolio Biography
Rapper Coolio is best known for his single Gangsta’s Paradise which featured in the film Dangerous Minds. Gangsta’s Paradise is also his favourite song. Narcissism anybody?
Since then he has appeared in Friends spin-off Joey and as a cartoon character in Futurama. He hopes that there will be somebody in the House that he is attracted to and is attracted to him so that he “might get some”.
He doesn’t want there to be any “ugly chicks” in the House and also confesses to a great love of food. But will he manage to cook up a winning plan?

Michelle Heaton Biography
Michelle will be best remembered for being part of the band Liberty X – formed from the runners up in ITV talent show Popstars.
Even if you can’t remember them, the band had ten Top 20 hits and won a Brit Award before announcing their split in 2007. Her biggest fear is that she will fall over in front of all the housemates as soon as she walks in, but she also admits that she can’t live without her boyfriend, Facebook and her mobile phone
Fingers crossed that she lasts longer in the House than when she worked in a shoe shop – she managed two short weeks.

Terry Christian Biography
Most people will probably remember mouthy Terry from his days as presenter of The Word back in the early 90s, but his media career began back in the 80s when he won awards for his radio broadcasts – a job he still does.
Terry is also a prolific writer and has written a biography about Oasis. He says the worst job he ever had was mopping floors at Butlins, so three weeks bouncing around in a confined space, at the mercy of several titanic egos should be a breeze, eh Terry?

Ulrika Jonsson Biography
From her beginnings in the late 80s as the weather forecaster on GMTV, multilingual Ulrika has been one of Britain’s favourite celebrities.
A string of relationships over the years have done little harm to her career – even the one with a certain well-known football manager! The fact she collects pigs might swing the vote though…
After admitting that she’s never been so anxious about anything in her life as going into the BB House, how will Ulrika cope with all those egos bouncing around? Good luck love…
